Uwem Asibeluo, the founder and creative force behind AprilWind Couture, is an Economics graduate with an inspiring journey. While still in university, Uwem discovered her entrepreneurial spirit by reselling imported ready-made clothing from China to customers in Port Harcourt. However, a pivotal question sparked her transformation: Why rely on imports when I can create my own designs to cater to local and global markets?

Fueled by this vision, Uwem embarked on a hands-on learning journey, starting with an apprenticeship to master the art of fashion design. In 2019, she officially launched AprilWind Couture Limited, transforming her passion into a thriving business. From a modest storefront, the brand has evolved into a dynamic fashion house that serves clients both locally and internationally through its online platform.

Uwem’s designs are more than just clothing—they are a celebration of African identity and creativity. Her commitment to fostering local talent, encouraging sustainable production, and promoting Nigerian craftsmanship has positioned her as a trailblazer in the industry.
